INDIANOLA — A vehicle crashed into a Walmart store in Indianola on Friday morning, injuring four people, according to local emergency officials.
Rescue 1, the Indianola Fire Department and other Sunflower County emergency responders were called to the store at 633 Highway 82 West at about 11:40 a.m. after reports that a vehicle had struck the building.
Emergency personnel found four people who needed medical attention: the male driver of the vehicle and three women who were inside the store at the time of the crash.
One of the injured was airlifted to a regional trauma center. The other three were taken by ground ambulance to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Authorities have not released information on their conditions.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Indianola Police Department.
