On November 21, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Lee County deputies and the 3rd District Constable attempted to serve an arrest warrant and court-ordered removal for 33-year-old Justin Darby at his residence on Road 1149.
Darby barricaded himself in a bedroom, leading to a standoff lasting over an hour.
After failed negotiations, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team intervened, successfully apprehending Darby. He was transported to the Lee County Jail and is being held without bond.
Darby faces charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and may be presented as a habitual offender to the Lee County Grand Jury due to prior criminal history.
Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
