According to WTVA, a Lowndes County jury took just 15 minutes on Wednesday, November 20, to convict Phillip House for the murder of his girlfriend, Summer Tennyson, according to District Attorney Scott Colom.
House was sentenced to life in prison for the crime.
39-year-old Tennyson was found in her home on Grant Road near Caledonia in June 2023, suffering from a single gunshot wound.
WTVA said that prosecutors argued that House killed her because he could not control her.
The quick verdict underscores the jury’s agreement with the evidence presented, bringing a measure of justice to Tennyson’s family.
