Gulfport Police arrested 20-year-old Brannon Michael Griffin Jr. on November 19, charging him with two counts of aggravated assault following a road rage incident that escalated into a drive-by shooting.
The incident happened around 6:42 p.m. on Old Highway 49. According to investigators, Griffin’s vehicle was blocking traffic at a green light when a driver behind him honked once. This reportedly enraged Griffin, who refused to move forward. When the victim attempted to pass, Griffin struck their vehicle and pursued them into a nearby parking lot.
Griffin allegedly circled the victim’s vehicle, leaned out of his window, and fired multiple shots, striking the victim’s car before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Police located Griffin shortly after the shooting and arrested him.
He was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $500,000 bond.
