According to Action News 5, a pedestrian was hit and killed Tuesday night in Tunica, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
The deadly accident happened shortly before 8:10 p.m. on Highway 4.
Authorities say a 42-year-old man was driving a 2007 Kia Sportage when he hit 57-year-old Tell Raquel Landaverde of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi, who was attempting to cross the highway.
Landaverde was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
