Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Walley Street. After an investigation, officers identified 26-year-old Marcus Loftin as the suspect and found him within the hour.
Loftin was detained without incident in the 100 block of Mable Street, where officers also found him in possession of stolen property connected to an auto burglary reported on November 14, 2024.
He was booked into the Forrest County Jail on charges of Grand Larceny Auto and Auto Burglary.
The investigation remains ongoing, and Hattiesburg Police will release additional information as it becomes available.
