According to WLBT, a Pearl police officer was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after an accident.
The crash happened on I-20 East near mile marker 50.
Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon told WLBT that the officer was on the scene of an earlier accident, waiting for a tow truck to arrive. While sitting in his patrol vehicle with blue lights on, the officer’s vehicle was struck by another car.
Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
According to Chief McLendon, both individuals appeared to have sustained minor injuries.
