A man wanted in connection with a felony charge in Philadelphia, Mississippi, has been captured following an effort led by the Kemper County Sheriff’s Office.
Cordarrel Jacob Jones, 36, was taken into custody after being sought by the Philadelphia Police Department for felony malicious mischief. Jones is accused of causing a disturbance at The Spot Convenience Store in Philadelphia on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, after an incident involving a failed payment transaction.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, Jones attempted to make a purchase at the store, but his payment card was declined. He reportedly left the store with merchandise without paying, then vandalized the store and struck a car with a golf club before fleeing the scene. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of felony malicious mischief.
Jones was captured by law enforcement officers with assistance from the Kemper County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff James Moore.
