On November 11, the Jackson Police Department (JPD) responded to an armed robbery at 1053 E County Line Road involving a planned transaction through Facebook Marketplace. Detectives determined that the seller had arranged to meet with 24-year-old Chanceler Holmes and 33-year-old Shaneque McAbee at the Burlington Store to complete the sale.
Upon arrival, Holmes allegedly attempted to rob the seller, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Both Holmes and the seller were shot and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Following the investigation, JPD arrested Shaneque McAbee, charging her as an accessory to robbery. McAbee appeared in court and was issued a $175,000 bond.
Bench warrants have also been issued for Holmes, who remains hospitalized. Upon his release, he will face charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
The Jackson Police Department continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone with additional information to come forward.
