A drug bust in Lauderdale County led to the arrest of a woman and the recovery of a missing juvenile, deputies said Friday.
The East Mississippi Drug Task Force attempted to serve a warrant for Charlene Evans in the 500 block of 56th Avenue just before noon, according to a press release from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
Agents obtained a search warrant for the residence and found a black male juvenile who had been reported missing. The juvenile was turned over to Meridian Police Department detectives.
LaShawn Boyd, who had four outstanding warrants with the Meridian Police Department, was also found inside the residence and handed over to police.
Evans was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a church (two counts) and possession of hydrocodone with intent to distribute.
