On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Sheriff Matt Haley announced the arrest of four juveniles in Biloxi on felony charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a handgun by a minor.
The incident began when Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity on South Shadow Creek Drive. Residents in the area had captured footage on their security cameras showing individuals in dark clothing pulling on car door handles and potentially entering vehicles.
While patrolling the neighborhood, deputies encountered a vehicle occupied by four juveniles. A search of the vehicle uncovered numerous items, including a firearm, which were determined to have been stolen from unlocked vehicles in the vicinity.
All four juveniles were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a handgun by a minor. They were subsequently transported to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center. According to Sheriff Haley, additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
With a recent increase in vehicle burglaries and the holiday season approaching, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to secure their vehicles and bring valuable items indoors each night.
