On October 22, the Tupelo Police Department arrested 28-year-old Jessica P. Mathis of Pontotoc on a Lee County Circuit Court Capias Warrant for Felony Fleeing.
The charges stem from an incident in March 2024 when Mathis fled from police after running a red light and driving over a curb.
During the chase, Mathis drove the wrong way on Highway 6, causing a collision with another vehicle. Both Mathis and the other driver were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC) by ambulance, though no life-threatening injuries were reported.
Mathis is being held on a $15,000 bond, and the case is awaiting trial in Lee County Circuit Court.
