The Starkville Police Department has arrested 38-year-old Lanorris Houston in connection with a shooting that took place in the Pecan Acres neighborhood on Monday, October 21.
Houston has been charged with aggravated assault following an altercation involving two males and a female, all of whom knew each other before the incident.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 2:03 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Authorities confirmed that shots were fired as a result of the altercation, though details surrounding the events leading to the shooting have not yet been fully disclosed.
Houston is currently being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail, and police have indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
