A suspect in a weekend shooting in Meridian has been taken into custody. David Alexander, 32, was apprehended on Monday at approximately 12:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. CST) by the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force at the Greyhound Bus Station in Tucson.
The shooting occurred on Sunday, October 13, around 5:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of 36th Street. Meridian police responded to reports of gunfire and found two victims at the scene. Both were transported to a local hospital by Metro Ambulance. One victim was listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was airlifted to a hospital in Jackson for further treatment.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more information. The Meridian Police Department continues to urge anyone with additional details to come forward.
