On October 11, deputies from the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office arrested Thomas Arnold “Tab” Benson at his home in Shurden Estates on charges of Domestic Violence-Aggravated Assault.
During the arrest, deputies found illegal narcotics on Benson’s person, prompting further investigation.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at Benson’s home shortly after. The search, conducted by Sheriff Hartley, multiple deputies, Grenada PD Narcotics, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, uncovered a significant cache of weapons and drugs.
Authorities seized 11 firearms, firearm accessories such as suppressors, magazines, ammunition, military ordnances (both live and spent), as well as methamphetamine and marijuana.
Benson has been booked into the Grenada Adult Detention Center on multiple charges, including Domestic Violence-Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
