On the night of October 11, Tupelo Police officers made an arrest after stopping an individual riding a bicycle without lights on Park Street.
When approached, the man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers.
Upon further investigation, police discovered the individual, identified as 43-year-old Terrell Bogan of Shannon, was carrying a firearm. A criminal history check revealed Bogan is a convicted felon.
Additionally, officers found that Bogan had seven active misdemeanor warrants with Tupelo Municipal Court. Following his detainment, Bogan was formally charged on October 14, 2024, with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
During a hearing, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set Bogan’s bond at $5,000. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further action.
Authorities continue to remind the public that anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
