CLARKE COUNTY – Investigators have determined that the death of an individual at a hunting camp off County Road 421 was due to natural causes, according to Sheriff Chancelor and the Clarke County Criminal Investigation Division.
The investigation, which began Saturday evening at approximately 6:45 PM, has concluded with no evidence of foul play. All units have since cleared the scene.
Initially, deputies responded to reports of a deceased person at the camp. Given the limited cell service in the area, details were initially sparse, leading investigators to assess whether the incident might involve criminal activity. The Clarke County Coroner was also on-site to assist in the investigation.
The investigation has now been closed, confirming that the circumstances surrounding the death were not suspicious. Further details may be released by the Sheriff’s Office as appropriate.
