According to Sgt. Sean Haddakin, the Flowood Police Department was called to Shadow Lake Apartments for a shots fired call.
When officers arrived, they were given a description of a suspicious black male behind a building.
Sgt. Haddakin said that when officers encountered that male he took off running and officers chased him.
The suspect then allegedly pointed a firearm towards the officers and officers fired at the male.
He was struck and killed.
