A man is behind bars after he was arrested on charges of bank robbery.
Around 3:00 p.m. on May 2nd, 2024, Capitol Police officers responded to a call regarding a bank robbery at Trustmark Bank located at 504 State Street in Jackson.
Upon arrival, officers were told that an unknown male entered the bank and presented a teller with a note demanding money. The teller complied and the subject left the scene in a vehicle that was seen traveling toward Flowood, Mississippi. Officers later recovered the vehicle and the money ($734.50) that was stolen.
On Friday, Capitol Police Investigators arrested and charged 46-year-old David Barrett with robbery. Barrett could serve a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and pay up to $10,000.00 in fines.

Luckey. “Together, we demonstrate the power of collaboration and determination, and were able to
get this criminal in custody and off our streets.”
