A man has been arrested and charged after a body was found inside of a Madison County home on February 5.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, 19-year-old Dawton Gage Whatley is in custody and is being charged with Murder.
On February 5th, Sheriff Tucker said that a man who was believed to be involved in some kind of domestic situation in Washington County and appeared to be high and possibly rattled from a beating told detectives he had killed his uncle at a home on Haley Creek Drive, in Madison County.
Washington County Sheriff Milton Gaston reached out to Tucker and gave him the information, which prompted Madison County to conduct a welfare check at that address.
Deputies, arriving at the address, found someone dead just inside the back door of the home.
