On February 8, officers with the Tupelo Police Department responded to Carnation Street in reference to a report of sexual assault.
On February 9, after further investigation, 39-year-old James Pickler Jr. (from Tupelo) was taken into custody by the Tupelo Police Department and charged with Sexual Battery.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Pickler to be held without bond. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
