On the morning of November 20, Picayune Police Officers responded to several commercial business burglaries that happened overnight.
During the night of November 20, an officer noticed a suspicious person at Dad’s Campers while conducting a building check.
At first, the suspect listened to the officer, but soon he ran on foot into the woods behind American Glass.
A perimeter was established and K9 Trea was requested for a track. During the track, a vehicle was located behind a church on S Haugh Avenue which belonged to our outstanding suspect.
During the track an officer observed two individuals run across S Haugh Avenue into the wooded area near the storage units on the south side of Meadowgreen Blvd. Another perimeter was established and K9 Trea successfully tracked and located two suspects in the woods.
One juvenile was charged with 6 counts of commercial burglary and released to his parent, one juvenile was charged with 1 count of commercial burglary and 1 count of resisting arrest by fleeing and was released to her parent. The outstanding juvenile will be charged with 6 counts of commercial burglary.
We are proud of our Officers and K9 Trea for making sure these suspects were caught and appreciate the Deputies from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department for helping us set the perimeters.
