On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the Greenville Police Department received a call from the Department of Human Services in reference to reporting an assault on a minor.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the guardian of the 13-year-old who advised that her grandchild has had a sexual encounter with the suspect over 10 times.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ray Harris of Greenville.
A warrant was issued for Ray Harris on the charge of Statutory Rape.
Almost a year later, on February 17, officers with the Greenville Police Department arrested Harris and booked him on the Statutory Rape charge.
He is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility and is awaiting his initial court appearance.
