What was previously considered a suicide in Copiah County is now being determined to be homicide.
Sheriff Byron Swilley says Alex Rosamond was found dead on August 11 at a home on Earl Knight Road in Crystal Springs. There were some suspicious details about the crime scene, some officials said, that did not point to suicide.
Rosamond’s case was largely placed on the back burner because of perceived confusion over whether his death was self-inflicted or not. A group of Copiah County residents who knew and loved Rosamond had been posting about his death — convinced he did not kill himself — to no avail until recently they formed a group and began to blast information and insist that law enforcement get moving on the case.
Monday, the sheriff said autopsy results prove Rosamond’s death was a homicide.
No suspect names have been released in this case.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
