Meridian residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents, unused medications and old electronic devices during a free Shred + Med event Thursday.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union, 809 26th Ave.
Residents can bring personal documents for free shredding. The service is limited to residential files.
Unused and expired medications will also be accepted for safe disposal. Liquids and needles will not be accepted.
The event will also offer free disposal of certain electronic devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets and cell phones.
The event is supported by Nextech, Magnolia Shredding, Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union and 1st Mississippi Federal Credit Union, along with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
