JACKSON – A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man at a Jackson gas station earlier this month, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Police said Demonte Demetrius Edwards was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 29, by the U.S. Marshals Service on a murder warrant for his alleged role in the death of Adrian Nunnery.
Edwards made his initial court appearance Wednesday and was given a $1 million bond.
The investigation began around 11 p.m. Sept. 6, when Jackson police robbery and homicide detectives responded to a reported shooting at the Inland gas station on Terry Road.
When detectives arrived, they found Nunnery lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead.
Two other suspects, 22-year-old Adam Edwards and 23-year-old Demyah Patterson, were arrested Sept. 8 and charged with murder for their alleged roles in the case, police said.
Both appeared in Jackson Municipal Court the following day and were given bonds of $500,000 each.
Police said additional arrests are expected.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
