Rosamond was found murdered Aug. 10, 2021. The sheriff’s office said the charge follows nearly five years of investigation into the case.
Sheriff’s officials said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are expected.
“This charge marks a significant development,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement, while emphasizing that it is only one step in the judicial process and that the rights of everyone involved will be respected.
The sheriff’s office credited Chief Investigator Ray Smith, its investigative team and state and federal law enforcement partners for their work on the case. Officials also thanked Copiah County residents and others who provided information to investigators.
The sheriff’s office said it will continue working with prosecutors and other authorities as the case moves through the judicial system.
