JACKSON – A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 29-year-old Tasia Fortune, whose body was found hanging from a tree behind a vacant house in Jackson last month.

According to the Jackson Police Department, Fortune was found Aug. 3 along Road of Remembrance.

Following an autopsy, the medical examiner ruled Fortune’s death a homicide and determined that “the scene and the hanging were staged,” police said.

Jackson police said the investigation has now led to three arrests.

The third suspect, 45-year-old Eric Clark, was charged with murder and turned himself in Sept. 25.

Clark is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday, Sept. 28.

The Jackson Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division said the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to identify and arrest anyone else believed to have been involved in Fortune’s death.

Clark is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
