LAFAYETTE COUNTY – An Oxford man has been arrested after investigators determined he was allegedly living at an unregistered address, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators received information Sept. 10 that Benjamin Adams, 24, a registered sex offender, was allegedly residing somewhere other than his registered address.
Following an investigation, deputies determined Adams was not living at the address listed in his registration. A warrant was issued Sept. 21 for failure to register as a sex offender.
Adams was located in Lafayette County on Sept. 22 and taken into custody.
He appeared before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge on Sept. 23, and bond was set at $5,000.
The sheriff’s office said Adams remains at the Lafayette County Detention Center on a hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections for an alleged probation violation.
Adams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
