More than 300 men expressed their faith during a revival held last week at the Mississippi State Penitentiary, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Superintendent Frank Caswell said 322 men participated in the revival at the prison.
Dr. Shane Calhoun of Cleveland, Tennessee, preached during the event.
Caswell said he believed the gathering could mark the beginning of something larger at the penitentiary.
“I’m just humbled and thankful that God allowed me to be there and be a small part of what He is doing,” Caswell said.
The Department of Corrections did not provide additional details about the revival or whether similar events are planned.
