FLOWOOD — Flowood’s inaugural Fashion Week is underway, bringing a weeklong celebration of local shopping, fashion and community events to the city through Sept. 27.
The event, organized by the Flowood Fashion Board in partnership with Visit Flowood MS, features special promotions, seasonal collections, extended shopping hours, pop-up events and styling experiences at participating retailers throughout the city.
Shoppers also have a chance to win a $500 Flowood Shopping Spree. Each eligible receipt from a participating Fashion Week retailer counts as an entry, with no limit on the number of entries. Receipts must be uploaded through the Fashion Week QR code by 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Participating retailers include Chico’s, Dolly Chic’ Boutique, Flawless Boutique, Fleet Feet Flowood, Lace Bridal Experience, LOFT, Merle Norman Flowood, Mia Bella Prom, Nellamoon, Pacesetter Gallery, Paper Doll, Reservoir Tan & Salon, Tootsie Trends Boutique Flowood and Versona.
The week continues Wednesday with “Behind the Seams,” featuring collections, styling inspiration and fashion tips, followed by the signature Flowood Fashion Runway, Silent Auction & Marketplace Thursday at the Hilton Garden Inn Flowood.
Guests can begin shopping the marketplace at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, with the fashion runway beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event will feature looks from participating retailers, brunch and mimosas, as well as a silent auction.
Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Gabby Strong Foundation in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The Mississippi-based foundation provides hope, encouragement and financial assistance to children battling cancer and their families.
Friday will highlight locally owned businesses, while Saturday will feature beauty events, workshops and pop-ups. Sunday will mark the final day of Fashion Week and the deadline for submitting qualifying receipts for the $500 shopping spree.
Gold bows displayed at participating storefronts identify official Fashion Week retailers and also serve as a show of support for the Gabby Strong Foundation.
Tickets for Thursday’s Flowood Fashion Runway, Silent Auction & Marketplace remain available through Visit Flowood MS.
