MISSISSIPPI — Extra Table FEEDS is marking its inaugural Donor Celebration Week with a statewide campaign highlighting the donors who help provide nutritious food to communities across Mississippi.
The seven-day campaign runs Sept. 21-27 as the nonprofit recognizes the people whose donations allow it to purchase about $105,000 worth of food each month for 70 food pantry and soup kitchen partners across the state.
Extra Table FEEDS purchases shelf-stable foods including rice, beans, peanut butter, fruits, vegetables, soup, tuna and oats, then delivers the food directly to partner organizations at no cost to those organizations.
The nonprofit said it receives no government funding and that 100% of public donations are used to purchase food.
“Every delivery begins with a donor who believes a Mississippi neighbor should have good food on the table,” said Martha Allen Price, executive director of Extra Table FEEDS. “Our donors are the reason we can purchase $105,000 in food every month, deliver it consistently and say yes when another community asks for help.”
The organization said its partner network has expanded by seven new locations in 2026. Extra Table FEEDS typically sets a goal of adding three pantry partners each year, but donor support has allowed it to add seven this year, bringing its statewide network to 70 partners.
During Donor Celebration Week, Extra Table FEEDS plans to share videos, stories and behind-the-scenes looks at how donations are used, from purchasing and delivering food to stocking pantry shelves and getting groceries into the hands of families.
The campaign also asks donors and supporters to share their answer to the question, “What is your why?” Participants can share the experiences, people and beliefs that inspire them to support the organization and use #DonorCelebrationWeek on social media.
