RIDGELAND — A new community club is giving high school students in the Jackson metropolitan area an opportunity to explore careers, meet professionals and gain real-world insight as they plan for their futures.
The Future You Club was started by Karan Kamboj, a student at Germantown High School. The club connects students with professionals from a variety of career fields who can share their experiences, challenges and advice.
Organizers say the goal is to help students explore their interests, ask questions and make more confident decisions about their education and careers.
Students participating in the club will have opportunities to:
- Meet professionals from different career fields
- Gain real-world career insight
- Discover potential career paths
- Ask questions and build professional connections
- Strengthen college and scholarship applications
- Develop plans for their futures
Nicky Cobb, president of the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce, serves as an executive adviser to the club.
The club’s meetings are held at the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom, and high school students throughout the Jackson metro area are welcome to apply.
The club is not affiliated with the Madison County School District and does not represent the district.
