TUNICA COUNTY — The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office will host its 11th annual Charity Golf Tournament Oct. 16 to raise money for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and honor a Mississippi child whose journey through serious medical challenges has brought her home.
The tournament will be held Friday, Oct. 16, at Tunica National Golf & Tennis in Robinsonville.
This year’s tournament honoree is Kenleigh D’Nari Hibbler, who was born May 13, 2025, weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces.
Kenleigh was placed on a breathing tube and oxygen immediately after birth and was diagnosed with birth defects. Her family was told during the pregnancy that Le Bonheur might not be able to care for her, according to information provided by the sheriff’s office.
Her parents chose to continue fighting for their daughter, and Kenleigh spent her first 10 months receiving care at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
The family faced repeated medical emergencies and uncertainty during that time, but Kenleigh is now home and thriving, according to the sheriff’s office.
She remains on a ventilator at its lowest settings and requires little additional oxygen. She can say “hi,” gesture “yes” and “no,” and continues to grow and learn.
The annual tournament has raised more than $100,000 for Le Bonheur over the past 10 years, according to the sheriff’s office.
Organizers say proceeds from this year’s event will help Le Bonheur continue providing care to children and families facing serious medical challenges.
People can participate by registering a golf team, sponsoring the tournament, making a donation or sharing Kenleigh’s story.
Registration, sponsorship and donation information is available through the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office.
