GREENVILLE – A Greenville woman was arrested on a methamphetamine possession charge after police searched a home as part of an investigation into several residential burglaries, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Special Operations Division executed a search warrant Wednesday, Sept. 16, at a residence on Wallstreet Lane. Police said they were investigating multiple burglaries and reports of stolen property.
Special Operations officers secured the home while investigators searched it and documented items recovered inside. Several people at the residence were detained and taken to the police department for questioning as investigators worked to determine whether the recovered items were connected to the burglaries.
During a search of a bedroom reportedly occupied by Tia Spencer, officers said they found suspected methamphetamine and two suspected methamphetamine pipes. Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Police said investigators later returned to the residence while searching for additional property relevant to the burglary investigation and discovered that a vehicle previously at the home had been moved. Officers located the vehicle elsewhere and had it towed as part of the investigation.
The burglary investigation remains active. Police said additional charges are possible as investigators work to identify the owners of recovered property and determine whether other people were involved.
