HATTIESBURG – A Hattiesburg man has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed a bicyclist on Edwards Street last week.
Calvin King, 30, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 16, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to the Hattiesburg Police Department. He is being held at the Forrest County Detention Center.
The crash happened around 10:47 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 1500 block of Edwards Street. Officers responded to a report that a vehicle had struck a bicyclist.
The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity in the information provided.
The investigation remains ongoing. King is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
