Mississippi organizations that provide services to victims of human trafficking can now apply for funding through the state’s Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund.
Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced Monday that the 2026 application period opened Sept. 15.
The fund provides financial support to organizations that offer direct services to human trafficking victims in Mississippi. Since the program was established, nearly $11 million has been distributed for victim services, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
“I am pleased to announce that the 2026 application period for the Victims of Human Trafficking Fund is now open, and organizations that are helping human trafficking victims recover and heal are invited to apply,” Fitch said.
The fund was created during the 2020 legislative session and is administered by the Attorney General’s Office. A seven-member committee oversees funding decisions.
By law, money for the fund can come from assessments tied to convictions for certain crimes, donations and legislative appropriations.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Oct. 1.
Organizations interested in applying can find additional information through the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Fund webpage. The Attorney General’s Office also provides victim-assistance and human-trafficking resources through its Bureau of Victim Assistance.
