VICKSBURG — Vicksburg police are investigating a shooting Saturday morning that left one person with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers responded to 2607 Halls Ferry Road around 10:51 a.m. after receiving a report of a man who had possibly been shot, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting in the parking lot near the gas pumps.
A short time later, a person arrived at a local hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was being transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for further treatment.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and processing evidence collected at the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation. Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
