OXFORD — The Oxford Police Department will host a free online safety class for parents Sept. 21 to help families better understand the apps, trends and risks children face online.
The class will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Oxford Police Department, 9 Industrial Park Drive.
The department said the class is designed to give parents simple steps they can take to help keep their children safe online, along with information about resources available to families.
Topics will include social media, online gaming, apps commonly used by children and other online trends and risks.
No sign-up or registration is required.
The department is encouraging parents of children who are active on social media or online gaming to attend and learn tools they can use to help protect their children in today’s digital world.
