JACKSON – Sweet Penelope has been showing up, smiling and hoping someone will notice her.
The adoptable dog with Cheshire Abbey has attended multiple adoption events but has yet to find her forever family.
Rescuers describe Penelope as a loving, confident dog who is house trained and already knows how to sit. They say she is affectionate, playful and “a gem of a dog.”
Penelope enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do best with dogs around her own size, about 40 pounds or larger. While she has done well with smaller dogs, rescuers said her playful personality may be a little much for cats.
She is also believed to be a good fit for a home with children.
Cheshire Abbey is looking for either a permanent home or a foster home for Penelope.
