WILKINSON COUNTY — Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with a July 4 mass shooting in Centreville that killed two people and injured at least seven others, according to the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office.
Kelin Moore, 27, of Jackson, Louisiana, and a 17-year-old Centreville juvenile were arrested Wednesday as investigators continued working to identify those responsible for the shooting.
The shooting occurred during a Fourth of July weekend gathering near Best G’s Store and Orchard Café on Highway 24 in Centreville. Nineteen-year-old Dekevion Andrews and 22-year-old Donavan Jackson were killed.
At least seven additional victims, ranging in age from 14 to 20, were injured. Four of the injured victims were identified as Jerryon Rogers, 20; Latelvin Henyard, 19; Cameron Robinson, 18; and four other juveniles, all from Centreville.
According to the sheriff’s office, ATF task force officers, Louisiana State Police, the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office and the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Moore at his residence in Jackson, Louisiana, early Wednesday. He was taken to the East Feliciana Parish jail, where he waived extradition, and was then transported to the Wilkinson County Jail in Woodville.
In Centreville, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force Jackson officers, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Wilkinson County sheriff’s deputies located and arrested the 17-year-old, who also had felony warrants.
Both suspects are being held at the Wilkinson County Jail.
With the two arrests, seven people have now been charged in connection with the shooting.
Moore, the juvenile, Larry Smith Jr., Kaden Anderson and Zychavion VanNorman face charges of two counts of murder, seven counts of aggravated assault and 10 counts of drive-by shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.
Zavier Augustine and Christian Johnson are charged with accessory after the fact.
The sheriff’s office said five suspects were arrested July 29 following a multistate investigation. Four were arrested in Louisiana and one was taken into custody in Columbus, Ohio.
Investigators said the case began after the Wilkinson County E-911 Dispatch Center received a call from Fields Health System in the early morning hours of July 4 reporting that multiple gunshot victims had arrived at the Centreville emergency room.
Officers determined that nine people suffering from gunshot wounds had been transported to the hospital in private vehicles. Two later died.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and additional arrests and charges are expected as investigators work to identify and locate anyone else who may have been involved in the shooting or its aftermath.
