JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 42-year-old man dead Sunday night at a gas station on Terry Road.
Robbery/Homicide detectives responded to the Inland Gas Station at 3155 Terry Road at approximately 11 p.m. Sept. 6 after receiving a report of a shooting.
When detectives arrived, they found Adrian Nunnery, 42, deceased on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Preliminary information indicates Nunnery and an unidentified Black male became involved in a verbal confrontation that escalated before the unidentified man shot Nunnery, police said.
After the shooting, the suspect apparently entered a dark-colored sedan. Police said the vehicle may have displayed Mississippi license plate HRQ 382, although that information is still being verified.
The suspect may have been accompanied by an unidentified Black female. Her identity and possible involvement remain under investigation and have not been verified.
Nunnery’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify the shooter and determine whether anyone else may have been involved.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
