GRENADA — A Grenada man has been charged with first-degree arson in connection with a manufactured home fire that caused an estimated $80,000 in damage, according to the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Deaigo Stokes was arrested Aug. 31 after deputies with the State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation. His bond was set at $10,000.
The fire occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 31 at a manufactured home on Hebron Church Road in Grenada.
Investigators said Stokes owned the home, which they believe was financed and insured.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was assisted by the Tie Plant Volunteer Fire Department and the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department.
