JACKSON — The Mississippi Business Alliance will hold its 2026 General Assembly on Sept. 9 at the Jackson Convention Complex, bringing together business leaders, economic development officials and other stakeholders for a day of discussions on Mississippi’s economy and future growth.
The event will be held at the Jackson Convention Complex, 105 E. Pascagoula St.
The agenda includes breakout sessions focused on energy, data centers, manufacturing and economic development, followed by a plenary session examining the state and national economy and perspectives from Mississippi business leaders.
The morning’s breakout sessions include “Powering Mississippi’s Future Economy: Energy, Data Centers, and Economic Growth” and “Power of Place: Community Development as an Economic Development Strategy.”
Speakers and panelists are expected to include representatives from Entergy, Mississippi Power, Amazon Web Services, the Madison County Economic Development Authority, ADP, Oxford-Lafayette Inc. and the Rankin First Economic Development Authority.
The plenary session will feature economist Peter Ricchiuti of Tulane University speaking on “What, In This Economy?” The program will also include a panel discussion titled “Driving Growth: Perspectives from Mississippi’s Business Leaders,” moderated by John McKay.
Business leaders scheduled to participate include representatives from Entergy Mississippi, Nissan North America, C Spire and The William Yates Companies.
The General Assembly will conclude with lunch and a program recognizing the Mississippi Leadership Class and Mississippi Makers Challenge participants. The program will also include a posting of colors by the Mississippi National Guard, an invocation by Neddie Winters and closing remarks from McKay.
