HANCOCK COUNTY — An 87-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 43 in Hancock County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Donald Heater of Canadensis, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2012 GMC 1500 south on Highway 43 at about 2 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a 2015 Ford Escort, also traveling south.
The Ford was driven by 83-year-old William Israel of Picayune. His passenger was Ira Montgomery, also of Picayune.
After the initial collision, the Ford struck a northbound 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC driven by 61-year-old Kristin Rea of Kiln.
Heater was injured in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Lucille Heater, William Israel, Ira Montgomery and Kristin Rea were also transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
