VICKSBURG – Vicksburg police have identified the victim in an Aug. 21 homicide investigation and announced an arrest in the case.
According to the Vicksburg Police Department, 38-year-old Christopher Anderson was found dead near a fence line in the area of the Interstate 20 West ramp to U.S. Highway 61 South.

Police said Anderson appeared to have suffered a stab wound.
Investigators identified 42-year-old Christopher Scott Smith as the suspect.
Smith was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Anderson’s death.
He appeared Monday before Judge Allen Derivaux, who set bond at $150,000.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Smith is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
