VICKSBURG — Vicksburg police are investigating a homicide after an unidentified man was found dead Friday near a highway ramp with what appeared to be a stab wound.
The man was discovered near a fence line in the area of the Interstate 20 westbound ramp to U.S. Highway 61 South, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.
The victim’s identity had not been determined as of Sunday. Investigators are working to identify him and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
A person of interest has been detained in connection with the investigation, police said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
