LAFAYETTE COUNTY – An Oxford woman has been arrested on two child endangerment charges after authorities said she and two of her children tested positive for illegal narcotics.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, investigators received information from Child Protective Services on July 30 regarding allegations that 23-year-old Neely Taylor was possibly exposing her children to harmful drugs.
On Aug. 18, investigators received drug test results indicating Taylor had tested positive for illegal narcotics. Authorities said two of her children also tested positive.
Following the investigation, warrants were obtained for Taylor’s arrest on two counts of child endangerment.
Taylor was arrested at her Oxford residence Aug. 18 without incident.
A Lafayette County Justice Court judge set Taylor’s bond at $20,000. She remained in custody at the Lafayette County Detention Center awaiting bond and also has a hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, according to the sheriff’s office.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
