LAUDERDALE COUNTY – A local yoga class became an opportunity to give back to animals at the Lauderdale County Animal Control Shelter.
According to Friends of the Lauderdale County Animal Control Shelter, Diana Shiels recently hosted a yoga class for Lisa Anderson at the Collinsville Physical Therapy Fitness Center.
Instead of accepting payment for the class, Shiels asked participants to bring donations for the shelter.
The group said the effort turned a wellness class into a community donation drive benefiting animals in need.
Friends of the Lauderdale County Animal Control Shelter thanked Shiels, Anderson, the Collinsville Physical Therapy Fitness Center and everyone who participated and contributed items.
The group said the effort was an example of how community members can use their time and talents to support local shelter animals.
