PORT GIBSON – Two women have been charged in connection with a shooting Sunday on Highway 18 near Port Gibson, according to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident happened Aug. 16 near 1004 Frontage Road/Highway 18.
Investigators said the victims were traveling on Highway 18 when a verbal confrontation occurred. During the incident, gunfire was allegedly directed toward the victims’ vehicle.
Two rounds struck the vehicle near the rear driver’s-side window and door, according to the sheriff’s office.
Roshunda Gordon and Davina Hyder were later taken into custody and charged in connection with the shooting.
Both defendants appeared Tuesday morning before Judge David Flowers. Bond was set at $500,000 each.
The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
